Well, the main drawback (as already mentioned) is that the amount of filled gas is not visible. A partial solution is to use a transparent gas canister for inflation, which Luxlite has, and possibly other manufacturers as well.

The photo shows the maximum and minimum flame. At the very minimum setting of the regulator, the lighter doesn’t work, it puffs slightly and doesn’t light up.
