Why do we need to clean our aromatherapy diffusers regularly?

So far i like this, you can directly screw an essential oil bottle in the machine and start using it. doesn’t have to mix with water. i bought this to replace the toxic supermarket bathroom air freshener. i put it on the lowest setting, spraying on one hour interval and the battery can last a few days.
