    Flawless performance right out of the box with uprecise:

    I purchased the um980 module for a future project and have been doing initial testing with unicorecomm’s own uprecise software. The experience has been seamless.

    Easy setup: connected the module to a usb-to-ttl adapter, powered it on, and opened uprecise. It recognized the com port immediately and started streaming data.

    Instant satellite lock: the module acquires a huge number of satellites incredibly fast from a cold start. Seeing it track gps, glonass, galileo, and especially the strong beidou constellations all at once is impressive.

    Stable data: the data stream in uprecise is rock-solid. The position, number of satellites, and signal-to-noise ratio (snr) graphs all look perfect, confirming the module is healthy and performing as expected.

    Genuine product: using the manufacturer’s software successfully is the best way to verify this is a genuine unicorecomm module, and it passed with flying colors.

    The plate and antenna are functioning correctly. There isn’t much information on commissioning but configuring with Uprecise achieves RTK fixed very quickly.

    Shipping by Ecoscooting is very bad, they take long to deliver, you have to go look for it at the warehouse and hope they find it.

    I order just the pcb with out the antenna. Great module. Seller was helpful and answers quickly to my questions . Only issue is that i will expect better packaging for shipping. I had no problem but the protection level was not enough to ensure i will have no issue. Please ship with more protection to next customers.

    To connect to a PC via USB and monitor it, you need to set COM3 as the Output port in the Message Configuration of the Receiver Configuration and check NMEA.

    The sensitivity of the antenna and module is excellent.
    BDS is receiving a lot of signals from Beidou.

    I will describe the trial and error process that was involved in achieving successful single-point positioning.

    I used the included USB cable to connect to the PC, but it was not recognized as a device. I used a USB-C cable that I had at home that could transfer data to get recognition and obtain the port number.

    Start UPrecise and select the port number from the “Connection” menu on the left.

    From the menu on the left, select “Receiver Configuration” and then “Serial Port Configuration”, change the Baudrate for COM1 to 3 to 460800 (according to Copilot, this is recommended for the UM980), and press Enter→Save. On top of that, connect. If the numbers go back from 460800 after connecting, unplug and reconnect the UM980 cable and restart the UM980.

    Select Message Configuration from Receiver Configuration, choose COM3 (or COM1,2) as the Output Port, and check GGA, GSA, and RMC in the NMEA on the first page.

    · Move to the second page, check PVTSLN, BESTNAV, and RTKSTATUS, then press Enter-Save.

    I was able to perform Single positioning with this. Next, for RTK positioning, a Bluetooth connection between the smartphone and the UM980 is required, but I will try that later.
